- Annual - This license currently renews annually on December 31. All licenses issued will expire on December 31.

Requirements
- Complete the application for registration of a drug outlet and submit along with the appropriate fee (check or money order payable to Treasurer State of Maine, VISA, or MasterCard).
- Submit a scaled drawing of the drug outlet which details the usage of each area. If the registered area is part of a larger retail store, an additional scaled drawing of the entire establishment shall be furnished showing the relative position of the registered area and the location of all entrances, bathrooms, and storage area.

Requirements
- Renewal reminders are emailed to the email address on file at least 30 days prior to the license expiration date. It is the licensee's responsibility to keep the Board informed of current contact information and to see that the license is renewed absent the renewal application. Reminder includes licensee’s access code which, along with license number, is required for online renewal.
- A late fee of $50.00 is assessed for licenses renewed after the license expiration date.
- Licenses may be renewed up to 90 days after the date of expiration upon payment of a late fee of $50 in addition to the renewal fee. Any person who submits an application for renewal more than 90 days after license expiration date is subject to all requirements governing new applicants and is required to reapply with original license application, documentation and fees.
Mail Order Prescription Pharmacy
A mail order prescription pharmacy is an entity that dispenses prescription medications by mail or carrier from a facility not located in the state of Maine to a patient who resides in Maine.

Mail order contact lens supplier means a person or entity, other than an optometrist or physician licensed in this State, that fills contact lens prescriptions by mail or carrier for a patient who resides in this State.
