Tuition & Financial Aid

Class attendance and academic participation are expected of all CSN students and will be verified by faculty.

Group Assignment:

The Office of Financial Aid (OFA) places students who are awarded financial aid into one of three categories:

GROUP 1: Students who have earned CSN credits before summer 2024

For fall24, financial aid will begin disbursing grants, scholarships, and loans to eligible continuing students beginning August 19, 2024. However, if your class participation is not confirmed by CSN faculty, you will owe money back to the college.

GROUP 2: Students “New to CSN” who have Federal Grant Eligibility

NOTE: Any student who did not have earned CSN credits before the start of summer 2024 term falls into either GROUP 2 or GROUP 3. Summer 24' students are considered new to CSN.

All Federal and Institutional Aid disbursements will begin for new students with no previously earned CSN credits, during the week of September 16th. This will only occur once the faculty reports academic participation, and the Registrar processes those data. All Federal Direct Loans are subject to a 30-day disbursement delay after the first day of the student's enrolled classes. Meaning loans will not begin to disburse until on or after September 24th, 2024. Keep in mind, that changes in eligible course enrollment, receipt of additional aid, enrollment in only late-starting courses, or other variables may contribute to a further delay, reduction, or cancelation of pending loans. These delays will not cause the student to incur late fees, and your registration is protected from enrollment cancellation.

Students who have Federal Grant Eligibility may receive an FA ADVANCE to buy textbooks and course materials:

Once active and continued academic participation is confirmed by faculty, the Office of Financial Aid (OFA) will disburse eligible aid to your student account, paying towards your course charges and repaying the FA ADVANCE. Any excess credit balance created will be issued to you around 9/20/24. We strongly advise you to sign up for direct deposit through MyCSN, under the “Finances,” direct deposit option.

GROUP 3. Students “New to CSN” who do not have Federal Grant Eligibility

NOTE: Any student who did not have earned CSN credits before the start of summer 2024 term falls into either GROUP 2 or GROUP 3. Summer 24' students are considered new to CSN.

All Federal and Institutional Aid will be delayed for students new to CSN. These delays will not cause you to incur late fees or become subject to enrollment cancellation.

Once active and continued academic participation is confirmed by faculty, the Office of Financial Aid (OFA) will disburse eligible aid to your student account, paying towards your course charges. If you have any remaining credit balance on your account, we will begin issuing it to you starting September 24, 2024.

We strongly advise you to sign up for direct deposit through MyCSN, under the “Finances,” direct deposit option.
